[edit] Procurement Scheduling

Module: Production
Menu: Operations / Production / Procurement Scheduling

Open ERP production module calculates the procurement requirements on a MRP motor basis. Procurement is a general term for getting goods in order to satisfy a need (this need might be a make-to-stock or a make-to-order requirement). Goods might be produced or bought, based on product rules (make-to-stock or make-to-order) and on the procurement method of the sales order (from stock or on order).

The production scheduler generates procurement suggestions, which means that everything has to be validated first. After processing the scheduler, goods to be purchased appear in Operations / Purchase / Draft Purchase Order and productions orders appear in Operations / Production / Production orders / Production orders to start.

[edit] The fields

PO Lead Time: Lead time based on product definition, that is to say production lead time (if produced) or supplier lead time (if purchased).
Scheduler Cycle:
Security Days: Calculation is made for optimizing just in time processes. This means that production orders or purchase orders are delayed until the PO lead time equals to the time remaining for delivering the sales order without exceeding the deadline. Security days are used to launch orders some days in advance, if estimations of procurement lead times are not safe enough.
Picking Lead Time: Time of the internal processes necessary to carry out picking goods. This time is taken into account to calculate the overall PO lead time.
PO Cycle:
Send Result To: A copy of the PO procurement requirements can be sent to anyone responsible for the procurement control.
