A lot is a set of physical goods in the same physical place. It can be made of several articles or of just one article. It is defined at a given time, and articles can be taken from the lot but also can be tracked as coming from this lot. A lot can be a set of articles purchased from a supplier. Consequently, if these articles are individually sold or individually used for manufacturing products, the link with the original lot is still possible to find.
